Tinnitus, a perceived sound in the ears or head which is not coming from an external source, impacts about 10% of the general population.   Tinnitus can have different characteristics and vary in loudness and pitch.   Individuals can be impacted by tinnitus in various ways and severity.  Unfortunately, when individuals seek medical advice about tinnitus, they are told “you are going to have to live with it” or “there is nothing that can be done”.  This can cause a sense of hopelessness and frustration.

Although there is no cure for tinnitus, there are many ways to manage and cope with tinnitus to get relief.  To determine what strategy and treatment plan is recommended, a complete assessment is necessary.  A comprehensive audiologic assessment will include an in-depth case history and complete diagnostic evaluation to determine how the auditory system is functioning and if it is causing tinnitus.  During your visit, we will review recommendations, provide coping strategies, demonstrate devices for tinnitus relief and outline a treatment plan.

Don’t be discouraged by tinnitus.  Scheduled an appointment for a tinnitus evaluation and begin your journey toward tinnitus relief.
